In October Cherylton Angus were privileged to purchase 8 magnificent donors from the performance tested Coonamble Angus. Few opportunities present to access time tested genetics and acquiring our pick females from the mature cow dispersal will enhance our cow herd depth.
The females, purchased in syndicate, further solidify our emphasis on maternal function. Animals of particular note include Coonamble F185, a KCF Bennett Performer daughter out of the sensational donor, Bangadang Lowan A61.
A61 has now produced 84 registered progeny, and ticks all the boxes for maternal strength without sacrificing carcass attributes. Coonamble F185, has already produced two stud sires that have been used within the highly regarded Coonamble program.
Another female of particular attraction was Coonamble E9. Also stemming from A61, this donor has produced the sire on the rise Coonamble Hector H249. H249 combines Bangadang Lowan A61, Imran Rosebud U17, Coonamble E9 and KCF Miss 589 L182.
It is no surprise with the power of the females in Hectors pedigree that he is siring fantastic maternal Angus cattle that perform.
The remaining females each have significant merit and I encourage you to click on “females” to delve deeper into the pedigree of the purchased animals.
Huge thanks to Richard Hall and Paul Torissi for assisting Cherylton in the purchases. Last but not least to Murray Davis, a true gentleman of the Angus world who has tirelessly developed a sensational line of performance tested cattle – thank you for the opportunity to further develop the cattle.
